Corporate Warrior and Glove Diamonds Set to Launch Major Charity Inspired Boxing & Music Event in Perth.

A new Scottish combat sports and community brand is preparing to make a major impact this October 2026, as Corporate Warrior Events officially announces the launch of its flagship event series, kicking off Cathy’s Song — a unique charity boxing and live music showcase in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support.

Founded by Perthshire boxing coach and former heavyweight boxer John McKechnie, the project combines white-collar boxing, live Scottish music, mentorship, and fundraising, with the aim of creating something that brings people together through sport, music, and community.

The inaugural event will take place at Perth College UHI on Saturday 24th October 2026 and will feature boxing legend Frank Bruno as special guest, alongside Scottish singer-songwriter Callum Beattie performing live inside the boxing arena during the evening.

The Corporate Warrior brand spearheads the event series and is the backdrop inspiration behind Cathy’s Song — a heartfelt tribute to McKechnie’s late mother Cathy and to legendary boxing coach Dave Thompson MBE, both of whom sadly passed away from cancer on July 27th, exactly one year apart, and played a major role in shaping his life.

Speaking about the project, McKechnie said:

“This is not just another white-collar boxing show.

This is about people, community, second chances, and raising money for causes close to all of our hearts.

Boxing changed my life, and now I want to use it to bring people together.”

The evening will combine live entertainment with a professionally produced boxing event featuring first-time participants, from across Scotland, taking part in an intensive Corporate Warrior training camp ahead of fight night.

Alongside the event launch, McKechnie has also confirmed the development of Glove Diamonds Combat Club, a new boutique-style boxing and combat facility currently undergoing major renovation in Perth city centre.

Outside of being the Corporate Warrior basecamp, the venue will focus on small-group coaching, mentorship, discipline, and mental wellbeing, moving away from the intimidating atmosphere often associated with traditional gyms. Look out for more local news regarding this.

“It’s about quality over quantity,” McKechnie explained.

“We’re creating a place where people can train hard, feel safe, grow in confidence, and be part of something positive.

No ego. No social media pressure. Real coaching and real community.”

The event has already attracted huge support from local businesses, tradespeople, sponsors, and members of the Scottish boxing and entertainment industries, with organisers confirming that additional announcements will follow in the coming weeks.

A portion of proceeds from the event, alongside fundraising from participants and auctions on the night, will go directly toward Macmillan Cancer Support.

The organisers are also working closely with Perth College UHI students and local partners to create opportunities in event production, hospitality, media, and sport.

With tickets expected to go on sale this summer, anticipation is already building around what many believe could become one of Scotland’s most unique charity and sporting events.

Further announcements regarding fighters, sponsors, special guests, and ticket launches are expected in early June.
